Paying is what reserves your place

The 150 places are claimed in order, and buying one is what puts your name on it. The waitlist is how you hear that buying has opened, which is a different and lovely thing, but it doesn't hold a number for you.

When you'd get it

I'll give a proper date once I'm certain of it. I'd much rather tell you a bit late than tell you wrong and let you down, and you'll hear it from me the moment I know.

Refunds are easy

Paddle handles the payment and the refunds, so it's their process rather than a conversation with me. Change your mind and you get your money back.

Is one-time really one time?

Yes, and I mean it properly. Bought once, every future update included, no upgrade fee appearing in two years. If WritersBox is around in a decade, so is your licence.

Does it phone home?

A founders licence never contacts my server again after the first sign-in. You could unplug the internet for a year and carry on writing.

Windows, Mac, anything else?

There's a Windows program you install and a browser version that's the full thing, not a lite one. Mac, Linux and Chromebook all go in through the browser, and one licence covers the lot.

What if a plan ever lapses?

Never your problem on a founders licence, which doesn't expire. Worth knowing anyway: when anything lapses, WritersBox goes read-only. You can always open, read, print and export every word you've written. Your work is yours, permanently.

Do I pay twice for the browser version?

Never. One licence covers both, there's no separate price, and there isn't going to be one.

Where does my writing live?

On your own machine, in a plain folder you can copy to a memory stick. It's never sent to me. There isn't a column in my database for a screenplay, and there never will be.

The terms are worth two minutes. They're short and written to be read rather than to protect me. The privacy notice is shorter still, because I collect almost nothing.
